Terminator 4Filming has just begun on what has got to be one of the most argued sequels set for release next year and already it looks like we have our first teaser and a timetable for when we’ll see a trailer. McG has posted the first update on the official website for “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins“, featuring our first look at concept art for post-apocalyptic, nuclear blast-devastated cityscape in Los Angeles.

Christian Bale to Star in Terminator Salvation – Confirmed

Christian BaleChristian Bale is to play rebel leader John Connor in three sequels to the Terminator franchise, its producers have revealed. He has already started shooting the first of those films, “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.”

 The Welsh-born star, who is soon to be seen in Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight, has already started shooting the first of those films, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

“He’s really an actor’s actor, so we’re very proud,” said Victor Kubicek of film company Halcyon.

“Christian was our first choice and he’s a big fan of The Terminator, so we’re very lucky,” Kubicek told the BBC at the Cannes Film Festival.

“But with Batman he’s already done the whole franchise thing, so we weren’t sure he’d respond.”

Luckily, said Kubicek’s business partner Derek Anderson, “he read the script and he loved it, so he’s signed on for all three.”

The first film of the new trilogy  “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins will hit theaters May 22, 2009.

Common signs up for ‘Terminator 4′

CommonCommon has joined the cast of the new Terminator movie.The rapper will star alongside Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin and Moon Bloodgood in the fourth instalment in the franchise, reports Variety.

He will play one of John Connor’s inner circle of freedom fighters battling the artificial intelligence system SkyNet.

The Warner Bros production is scheduled for a May 22, 2009 release.

Common was slated to play the Green Lantern in the Justice League of America film, but it was recently rumoured to have been scrapped.

With their (mostly) respected heritage and not inconsiderable impact on modern culture, it’s not surprising that a new addition to the ‘Terminator‘ franchise would generate an exploding cluster bomb of rumour, speculation and out and out nonsense! We’ve heard plenty already concerning this latest kick off with the metal lads with seemingly most of Hollywood’s finest and not so finest being implicated for a role in the film.

This one is fairly hot off the press and it suggests strongly that the rather appealing Moon Bloodgood (there’s no forgetting a name like that!) will be the new battle hardened ‘Ripley of the post nuclear age’ Sarah Connor. According to Yahoo news, the lass who has appeared in the TV series ‘Day Break‘ and who has just won her self a part in the new ‘Street Fighter‘ film is in final negotiations for the part. Untitled Terminator Project

TerminatorTerminator Salvation: The Future Begins is no more in regards to the name of the next installment. Warner Bros  is now calling it Untitled Terminator Project. The upcoming trilogy will star Christian Bale as John Connor and Sam Worthington as a new character named Marcus in the war against the machines. McG is set to direct the first installment of the new trilogy, based on a screenplay by Michael Ferris and John Brancato.

The film will hit theaters May 22, 2009.

Warner Bros Splits ‘Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins’ Rights With Sony

TerminatorSony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has acquired the international distribution rights to Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, the upcoming next installment of a planned new trilogy featuring Christian Bale (John Connor) and Sam Worthington (new character Marcus) with McG as director.The Hollywood Reporter says that the deal inked with the film’s producers, Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson of the Halcyon Co., hands Sony’s worldwide acquisitions group arm all foreign distribution rights except for Korea and some Middle East countries. Warner Bros. is handling U.S. and Canadian distribution rights for the film, set to bow in first-half 2009. Production is scheduled to begin in the spring in New Mexico.

Sam Worthington cast in ‘Terminator’

Sam WorthingtonSam Worthington has been cast in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

The 31-year-old will play Marcus, a survivor of a nuclear holocaust caused by the self-aware computer network system Skynet.

Worthington’s role will reportedly span three films as he becomes a central figure in the human fight against Skynet.

Christian Bale has already been cast as John Connor, the leader of the resistance. The role has previously been played by Edward Furlong and Nick Stahl on film and Thomas Dekker in TV series The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
