Xan (one of the children of John Cassavetes) feature directorial debut Kiss of the Damned, is really trying to go for the European horror vibe of the ’60s and ’70s, which you can recognize in the preview red-banded for language, partial nudity and some gore.
The trailer shows off some of kick ass core features along with some old-school text that pops up on the screen.
Written and directed by Xan Cassavetes the film stars Milo Ventimiglia as Paolo, a screenwriter who falls for the vampiress Djuna (Josephine de La Baume). When Djuna’s rogue sister Mimi (Roxane Mesquida) unexpectedly comes to visit, the whole vampire community becomes endangered.
The art house vampire flick also stars Anna Mouglalis, Michael Rapaport, Riley Keough and Ching Valdes-Aran.
A grown-up version of Twilight meets True Blood will be available on iTunes/On Demand on March 28th and in theaters on May 3rd, 2013.
