Disney's “Descendants: The Rise of Red” is gearing up for its release, and to get fans excited, the studio has unveiled new character posters featuring the movie's lead, Red, played by Kylie Cantrall. Red, the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts, is set to take center stage in this next installment of the popular franchise that brings together the teenage progeny of iconic Disney heroes and villains.
The movie, which starts streaming on Disney+ on July 12, follows Red and Chloe, played by Malia Baker, as they navigate the challenges of their polar opposite personalities and backgrounds. When the tyrannical Queen of Hearts instigates a coup against Auradon, Red and Chloe must join forces and travel back in time to undo the traumatic event.
True to the “Descendants” tradition, “The Rise of Red” features seven new original songs, two reprises, and a cover of “So This Is Love” from the classic animated “Cinderella” film. The “Descendants: The Rise of Red Original Soundtrack” is set for release on July 12, giving fans a chance to enjoy the music before the movie hits the screens.
The excitement doesn't end there, as Disney Consumer Products has announced a range of offerings across fashion dolls, playsets, apparel, role play, costumes, books, and more, coming this summer. With nearly 7 million dolls and 9 million “Descendants” books sold, including four New York Times bestsellers, and “Descendants” Halloween costumes among Disney's top 5 licensed costumes for seven consecutive years (2015-2021), the franchise has proven its popularity among fans.
Producer Williams and costume designers Julia Caston and Emilio Sosa have worked together to bring this magical world to life. The latest teaser trailer offers a sneak peek into the rebellious world of Wonderland's princess and the challenges she faces as she navigates her destiny.
