300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE First Promo Image
300: Rise of an Empire, a follow-up to Zack Snyder‘s 300, was updated with the official logo featuring the film's title in typical Spartan fashion.
Based on the 1998 comic book series by Frank Miller the sequel will take place simultaneously with the first film, which showed the epic battle of Thermopylae.
Directed by Noam Murro (Smart People) from the script penned by Snyder who also produced Rise of an Empire, film is set to focus on Rodrigo Santoro's character Xeres as he takes on and battles the Persian King and will include a battle similar to the one in 300, but seen from a different point of view.
Sullivan Stapleton co-stars as General Themistocles, Eva Green as Artemisia along with Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey, Jack O'Connell and Andrew Tiernan.
300: Rise of an Empire is set to be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX theaters on August 2nd, 2013.
The logotype was first published at the 300 Facebook page, which is currently unavailable.
