Just a day after the
film's official poster was released, we have the first trailer for the
Zack Snyder-produced follow-up to
300.
The first look at
300: Rise of an Empire is here, expertly narrated by sexy yet authoritative voice by
Lena Headey as Queen Gorgo aka Queen of Sparta, the widow of Leonidas (
Gerard Butler) who led an army of 300 Spartan men against the invading Persian army at the Battle of Thermopylae.
The
Noam Murro's sequel
300: Rise of an Empire also focuses on the Battle of Salamis, of which a major player is the villaness General Artemisia (
Eva Green) under the rule of the Persian ‘God-King'
Xerxes (we get new looks at him, played by
Rodrigo Santoro).
This epic action adventure also stars
Sullivan Stapleton (Gangster Squad) as the Athenian leader Themistokles who attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the Persian War;
Hans Matheson (Clash of the Titans) stars as Aeskylos;
David Wenham returns as Dilios and
Andrew Tiernan plays Ephialtes.
