Johnny Depp Eyed For Wally Pfister’s TRANSCENDENCE

Nick Martin October 24, 2012 Add a Comment
Johnny Depp Earlier this year it was reported that Oscar-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister had been hired to direct an untitled project written by newcomer Jack Paglen. Now comes word that The Lone Ranger's Johnny Depp is in talks to star in the feature directorial debut of Pfister, now having a title – Transcendence. Since Pfister has done seven films with Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas, including The Dark Knight Rises and Memento, it's no surprise they are serving as executive producers on the Transcendence project. The plotline is being kept heavily under wraps. However, THR's Borys Kit tweets that the story is described as 2001 meets Inception and ‘is about the creation of a malevolent computer program.' As for Pfister, who recently completed The Dark Knight Rises, he states:
I'm thrilled, and feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Johnny. He is a creative and intelligent artist whom I feel will bring great depth to the character and the overall narrative.
As for Depp, we learned he won't be in Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel after all, so he does have another director-driven project up his sleeve. Cinematographer Wally Pfister Source: ComingSoon
