Samuel L. Jackson Confirms Elizabeth Olsen For THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Elizabeth Olsen-Scarlet Witch

Samuel L. Jackson confirmed in a recent interview that Elizabeth Olsen is joining him in The Avengers: Age of Ultron and will play the Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch in The Avengers sequel.

Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in Marvel Studios' superhero pics, also said filming for the movie with director Joss Whedon won't start until after March of next year.

He told the Wall Street Journal:

I don't think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. (Elizabeth) Olsen (who will play the Scarlet Witch), but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is still thought to be playing Scarlet Witch's brother, Pietro a.k.a. Quicksilver, but never confirmed whether he will do it or not. Kick-Ass star has instead shared some insight on how this lightning fast figure relates to Wanda Maximoff:

His sister really is his guidance – emotionally she's the one who looks after him, and vice versa. He's very overprotective physically – he doesn't want anyone touching her.

Whedon previously said Wanda and her twin brother Pietro interested him because they

represent the part of the world that wouldn't necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they're not there to make things easier. I'm not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.

Marvel has yet to confirm either Olsen or Taylor-Johnson's deal. Saoirse Ronan was earlier offered the part, but turned it down. We'll see.

Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and  Jeremy Renner, are also expected to reprise their roles in the follow-up with James Spader who recently signed on to play robot villain Ultron.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 1st, 2015.
