Cannes 2012: POST TENEBRAS LUX by Carlos Reygadas

Fiona April 26, 2012 Add a Comment
Post Tenebras Lux Post Tenebras Lux means Light After Darkness, but it's actually a completely new movie which comes from Mexican director Carlos Reygadas. This project is scheduled to premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival, In Competition category and today we're here to have a little chat about the whole thing and to share some great photos from the whole thing. Post Tenebras Lux The movie centers on Juan and his young urban family who live in the countryside of Mexico. There, they enjoy and suffer a world that understands life in a different way. Juan wonders if those worlds are complementary or, truly, they fight unconsciously to eliminate one another. That's the official synopsis part, and I guess it's difficult to understand what these photos are about. Except the great nature, of course. Post Tenebras Lux But, maybe this description that Reygadas gave us will help you – he has described this project as a work where “reason will intervene as little as possible, like an expressionist painting where you try to express what you're feeling through the painting rather than depict what something looks like”. One thing is for sure, visually – Reygadas deserves Palme D'Or. Post Tenebras Lux Post Tenebras Lux Post Tenebras Lux Post Tenebras Lux Post Tenebras Lux
