Jennifer Lopez is back in action for Netflix's latest thriller, Atlas, set to premiere on May 24. In this high-stakes film, Lopez plays Atlas Shepherd, a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep-seated distrust of artificial intelligence. Her life's work has been dedicated to tracking down Harlan, an AI program created to advance humanity but instead turned rogue.

Atlas Trailer

The new trailer for Atlas reveals that Shepherd's pursuit of Harlan takes her to another planet, where she joins a team on a mission to capture the wayward AI. However, their efforts are met with a violent attack, forcing Shepherd to eject herself from the ship in a giant robot suit controlled by Smith, another AI program.

Despite her mistrust of AI, Shepherd quickly learns that she cannot complete her mission without Smith's help. The two must form an uneasy alliance to stop Harlan before it's too late. As Mark Strong's military character explains in the trailer, if Harlan is not stopped, “all life on Earth is doomed.”

Atlas is written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite and directed by Brad Peyton, who is no stranger to high-stakes action films, having directed Rampage and San Andreas. With its thrilling plot and talented cast, Atlas promises to be a must-watch for action and sci-fi fans alike.
