Both 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios possess the right to include Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in their feature films,
The Avengers 2 and
X-Men: Days of Future Past and with
Bryan Singer casting
Evan Peters in
his movie, it's time for
Joss Whedon to cast his Pietro ‘Quicksilver' Maximoff.
Funnily enough though Peters's
Kick-Ass co-star
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is being eyed for the role of Magneto's son, who is capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds, for Marvel's
The Avengers 2.
Sources say no decision has been made at this time.
Assuming that Aaron Johnson is, arguably, a bigger name than Peters, Quicksilver's role will be much more important in Whedon's
Avengers 2 than in the Singer's
X-Men follow-up, where Peters seems to just have a bit part.
Johnson will have to resolve a potential scheduling conflicts with
The Avengers 2, as he's currently filming
Godzilla for Legendary Pictures.
As for the twin sister of Quicksilver,
Saoirse Ronan is rumored to at the top of Marvel's list to play the Scarlet Witch.
Marvel is still negotiating with
Robert Downey Jr. to reprise his role as Tony Stark, aka
Iron Man in the film because Whedon has made it clear that he has ‘no intention of making ‘Avengers 2' without him.'
Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man in the way that Sean Connery was James Bond, so for God's sake don't kill our dreams!
