The Past

Things are pretty clear with Asghar Farhadi‘s upcoming The Past movie – it deals with the theme of separation, it has an awesome cast on board, and the most important thing: the film has been selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Today, we’re here to share an English subtitled trailer for the whole thing, hope you’ll enjoy!

Iranian film director Asghar Farhadi (who won the Foreign Language Oscar for his 2011 film A Separation) stands behind the upcoming drama which stars Berenice Bejo, Tahar Rahim and Ali Mosaffa.

So, basically we have The Artist and A Prophet stars on board for The Past? Sounds great!

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

An Iranian man having long-term domestic problems with his French wife, deserts his wife and two children to go back to his homeland, Iran. In the mean time, his wife is seeing a French man and therefore writes to him and asks for a divorce which compels the man to come back to France, only to see his wife’s new partner in his home beside his children.

As you already guess, Mosaffa stars as that Iranian man, his wife is Bejo, while Rahim plays the above mentioned French guy.

One thing is for sure – Farhadi’s domestic drama definitely looks promising.

Let us know what you think, and stay tuned for more updates!
