Christoph Waltz To Join The Cast Of THE MUPPETS Sequel
A return to the world of The Muppets is moving forward – Oscar winner Christoph Waltz is in talks to join the cast of Disney's Muppets sequel for the role of an Interpol inspector in the upcoming film.
The sequel to Walt Disney Pictures' 2011 hit has, therefore, nabbed its first human star in its cast ensemble.
The part of Interpol inspector will be one of a small handful of human roles that will stand apart, while other important human characters include a ‘Russian femme fatale' and ‘a male lead whose intentions are always in question.'
The Muppets 2 is being penned by James Bobin and Nicholas Stoller, who wrote the first movie with Jason Segel; Bobin will also return to the directing seat, but Segel denied to return to the franchise, despite the success of the first flick.
Waltz, who recently appeared in Roman Polanski's Carnage, will next be seen in Quentin Tarantino's holiday release Django Unchained and is also set to star in Terry Gilliam's drama The Zero Theorem.
