In ‘Chronicles of a Wandering Saint,' we follow the journey of Rita Lopez, portrayed brilliantly by Mónica Villa. Rita is a devout yet fiercely competitive woman living in a small Argentinian village. Her aspiration to attain sainthood leads her to stage a miracle after discovering a forgotten statue in her chapel's back room. With the help of her neglected but loving husband, Rita orchestrates a grand reveal, hoping to become the most revered woman in town. However, a series of unexpected events soon reveals the hidden magic of her world, challenging her perceptions and beliefs.

The film is a testament to Bustillo's directorial prowess, combining elements of religion, folklore, and the absurdity of human nature. His Buenos Aires roots and AFI training shine through in the beautifully crafted narrative and the rich, evocative visuals. Mónica Villa's luminous performance is complemented by Horacio Anibal Marassi, who brings depth to his role as Rita's supportive husband.

Produced by Gewan Brown and Amanda Freedman, ‘Chronicles of a Wandering Saint' is more than just a film; it's an exploration of love, community, and transcendence. The film's description aptly captures its essence, calling it “beautifully crafted, playful, and poignant,” with a story that finds reverence in the ordinary.
