Check this out – we've just learned that
Dane DeHaan (probably best known from
Chronicle) is definitely set to play Harry Osborn in
The Amazing Spider-Man 2. And you have nothing to worry about, this is
not a rumor, the whole thing comes straight from director
Marc Webb who revealed the news on his Twitter!
So, now we can say that the cast of the sequel looks promising: DeHaan will join
Andrew Garfield,
Emma Stone,
Shailene Woodley and (probably)
Jamie Foxx.
As we previously reported Woodley comes on board to play Mary Jane Watson, and as for Foxx – well, there's still nothing official, but we
already had a chance to hear that he'll play the central villain Electro.
As for DeHaan and his involvement in the sequel, the only thing I can say at this moment is that he's quite interesting choice for the role of Harry.

I mean:
The son of the ruthless industrialist, Norman Osborn, founder of Osborn Industries and Oscorp, Harry lost his mother, Emily, before he turned one year old. In the comics he was a close friend and classmate to Peter Parker, but later became a villain, taking up the Goblin mantle.
Anyway, Webb will direct the sequel from a script written by
Alex Kurtzman,
Roberto Orci,
Jeff Pinkner and
James Vanderbilt, and production will begin in early 2013 in New York.
In case you already forgot,
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to open on May 2nd, 2014.
