Thomas Vinterberg‘s upcoming film Jagten aka The Hunt looks great, but you already know that. Not just because we're dealing with one powerful and intense drama in here, but because the movie stars awesome Mads Mikkelsen as a nursery school teacher who is wrongly accused of sexually abusing a child. Make sure you check out the rest of this report to take a better look at Mikkelsen and to find the latest international trailer for the whole thing!
Written and directed by Thomas Vinterberg, the story is set in a small Danish village around Christmas, and follows a man named Lucas, played by Mads Mikkelsen who becomes the target of mass hysteria.
The movie is a disturbing depiction of how a lie becomes the truth when gossip, doubt and malice are allowed to flourish and ignite a witch-hunt that soon threatens to destroy an innocent man's life.
Lucas is a former school teacher who has been forced to start over having overcome a tough divorce and the loss of his job. Just as things are starting to go his way, his life is shattered. An untruthful remark throws the small community into a collective state of hysteria. The lie is spreading and Lucas is forced to fight a lonely fight for his life and dignity.
Beside Mads Mikkelsen who by the way won the Best Actor Award prize at Cannes Film Festival last year for his role, The Hunt also stars Thomas Bo Larsen, Annika Wedderkopp, Lasse Fogelstrøm, Susse Wold and Anne Louise Hassing.
The movie is still without an official release date here in US, but as usual – with every new update – we'll be back!
