Time and Again, Jack Finney's illustrated novel is heading to the big screen. Lionsgate is in charge for the whole thing and it looks that quite interesting team will be behind the project, including director
Doug Liman.
Apparently, he will not only come on board as a director, but as a producer as well, together with his Hypnotic partner Dave Bartis.
Finney's novel, first published in 1970, is actually a romantic time-travel tale which centers on a Manhattan illustrator who enlists in a secret government experiment and is transported from the mid-20th century to 1882 New York.
There, he falls in love and finds himself forced to choose between his lives in the present and the past.
After the success of the first novel, author Finney also wrote a sequel titled “From Time to Time” which was published a year after he died – in 1996.
And while we're still in the 90's, let us just remind you that
Robert Redford began developing the same project for Universal, but unfortunately that never worked out.
As for Liman's version, we definitely hope it will be a successful one.
But let's wait and see what will happen…
