Elijah Wood is set to as the lead in the upcoming
The Late Bloomer comedy which comes from director
Randall Einhorn. That, my friends, sounds pretty cool at this moment, because we will finally have a chance to watch
The Hobbit star as a man (close to age 30) who hadn't yet totally undergone puberty. Cheers!
The Late Bloomer is based on the 2001 acclaimed memoir
Man Made: A Memoir of My Body written by Ken Baker, while Joe Nussbaum and Paul Kaplan & Mark Torgove are on board to adapt that story for a big screen.
So, Wood will star in the true story of a man who found out at close to age 30 that he hadn't yet totally undergone puberty but when the medical condition preventing it was removed, in several short, overwhelming weeks did so.
Director Einhorn already described his project as
the type of wonderful heartfelt comedy that he likes to engage in, adding that:
This true story is anything but a normal circumstance. That truth is a new twist on something we all know well and Elijah is just perfect to play the lead role.
I couldn't agree more!
The Late Bloomer is expected to go into production in January 2013.
