We’re already familiar with this image, only this time – we have a little message from director Neill Blomkamp, that goes like this: he can save us all! In case you forgot, Matt Damon is Max DeCosta, who has only five days to get to Elysium in order to be cured. If he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well. Brave guy, head inside to check him out…
Written and directed by Blomkamp, Elyisum also stars Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Diego Luna, William Fichtner, Wagner Moura, and is set to hit theaters on August 9th, 2013.
We already shared some great trailers, even better featurettes, TV spots, images and posters for the whole thing, so I’m sure you know every single detail about the upcoming (safe to say) sci-fi spectacle, right?
Still, let us once again repeat that the movie is set in 2154 and that we have two classes of people: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined planet.
The rest of the story goes like this:
The people of Earth are desperate to escape the crime and poverty that is now rampant throughout the land. The only man with the chance to bring equality to these worlds is Max, an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission – one that pits him against Elysium’s Secretary Delacourt and her hard-line forces…
