Spanish filmmaker Enrique Urbizu (man responsible for No Rest for the Wicked) is all of the sudden attached to direct a project titled Silver Or Lead for Relativity Media! The good thing is that we’re actually talking about the true story behind the manhunt for cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar, and that some seriously good team stands behind the whole thing. So, at this moment we know that Urbizu will direct the movie from a script written by Piers Ashworth which he developed from an original draft by Michael Kane.
Source material for the film is provided by author Simon Strong‘s award-winning book Whitewash: Pablo Escobar and the Cocaine Wars and the whole thing will center on the personal war between Escobar and General Hugo Martinez, whose life rights were also acquired by Relativity.
