So, as you already know, Will Beall stands behind the script which follows LAPD and their efforts to take back their nascent city from one of the most dangerous mafia bosses of all time.
The movie is set in Los Angeles, 1949 where a ruthless mob king Mickey Cohen, played by Sean Penn, runs the show in the town with the full protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control.
But that's going to change when the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O'Mara, played by Josh Brolin, and Jerry Wooters aka Ryan Gosling come together to try to tear Cohen's world apart.
Gangster Squad also stars Nick Nolte, Robert Patrick, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie and Emma Stone and the movie is set to open on January 11th, 2013.
