Full Pixar’s Short LA LUNA Is Here & Available For All!

LA LUNA Don’t worry guys, we’re not here to give you a broken link! The only thing you need is a comfortable seat. That’s all, because we have Pixar‘s Oscar-nominated shorty La Luna, and as usual – we want to share the fun with you! As you probably know, Enrico Casarosa‘s short movie played this June in theaters together with Brave, but you can also catch it on the Blu-Ray/DVD of Brave this month. LA LUNA Pixar Short Image 03 La Luna tells the story of a young boy who, one night, accompanies his father & grandfather to their unusual nighttime job. In an old wooden boat they row far out to sea, and with no land in sight, they stop and wait. A big surprise awaits the little boy as he discovers his family’s most unusual line of work. LA LUNA Pixar Short Image 01 Should he follow the example of his Papa, or his Grandpa? Will he be able to find his own way in the midst of their conflicting opinions and timeworn traditions? My conclusion: director Casarosa definitely did a great job with this movie! Which is no surprise, we already know he’s a storyboard artist on Up, Ratatouille, Ice Age and Robots. And ok, maybe La Luna is not an intense or funny story, but please have in mind that there’s also no speaking in the film, or as he explained – instead, characters communicate through gibberish.
That was obviously the biggest challenge for Casarosa and his team. Here’s what he had to say about the whole thing:
There’s a real art to creating gibberish and it’s only after doing our homework and searching for voice actors who could really embody our characters that we finally found the right mix for our short.
Real art, for sure! You share my opinion, or what? LA LUNA Pixar Short Image 02

This is really nice and creative. The story board must have put in a lot of effort and imagination. It looks like he likes air and space because this specifies outer space and UP represents flying. I think that there are many themes like generation diversity, one kid can make a difference, and so on.
