FX's highly anticipated Alien series has officially wrapped production after six months of intense filming in Thailand. Lead star Sydney Chandler, who will portray the meta-human character Wendy, confirmed the completion via Instagram, sparking excitement among fans of the iconic sci-fi franchise.
Chandler, known for her compelling performances, takes on the complex role of Wendy, a character with the body of an adult and the consciousness of a child. This intriguing twist is just one of the many elements that set this series apart.
The ensemble cast is a powerhouse of talent, featuring Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh, Alex Lawther as soldier CJ, Kit Young as Tootles, Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier, Essie Davis as Dame Silvia, Adarsh Gourav as Slightly, David Rysdahl, and Moe Bar-El. With such a diverse and skilled cast, the series promises to deliver intense performances and memorable characters.
Helmed by Noah Hawley, who also writes and directs, the series is executive produced by Hawley, Ridley Scott, and Dana Gonzales, with Chris Lowenstein producing. This prequel story is set before the events of the Sigourney Weaver-led movies and will not include elements from Prometheus or Alien: Covenant. Hawley has committed to maintaining the retro-futuristic aesthetic of the original films, eschewing the advanced technology seen in the prequels. “There's no holograms,” Hawley stated, emphasizing the show's dedication to the gritty, analog feel that fans love.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, the setting on Earth and the promise of exploring new narrative territories have fans eagerly awaiting more. This fresh take on the Alien saga is poised to captivate both long-time followers and new viewers, blending the beloved elements of the original films with innovative storytelling.
