The Iron Man star
Robert Downey Jr. has topped
Vulture's list of Hollywood's ‘
100 Most Valuable Stars' and we're here to break it down for you.
If there are still people who don't understand that the world is getting complex, let's just say that it's never been harder to calculate a star's worth than it is in 2012.
The
Vulture list is based on several factors including domestic and overseas box office, studio value, Oscar nominations, critical acclaim, number of magazine covers, tabloid value and likability with a heavy emphasis on studio value and box office returns. They combined these numbers into a formula designed by The Guardian's data expert Harry Enten.
Rounding out the Top 5 are
Will Smith, Johnny Depp, Denzel Washington and
Brad Pitt, and only two women made the top 10:
Angelina Jolie (No. 8 ) and
Meryl Streep (No. 9). No doubt Downey Jr. deserves to be No.1 largely by his massive recent hits, such as The Avengers and Iron Man movies.
Sandra Bullock tops the likability list,
Clint Eastwood is the most respected star, the biggest tabloid target is Pitt, Streep tops the Most Respected list,
Jennifer Lawrence managed to snag the No. 16 spot thanks to her brilliant mix of critically acclaimed films and box-office hits, etc.
What do you think of Vulture's scientifically determined list?
