Jason Statham, a key figure in The Expendables franchise, recently voiced his enthusiasm for seeing another action icon join the ranks: Jackie Chan. During an interview, Statham highlighted Chan's legendary commitment to performing his own stunts and expressed his hope that Chan might one day become part of the team.

The Expendables franchise, which began in 2010, has featured a star-studded cast including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, and Jason Statham himself. Despite its success, there has always been one notable absence: Jackie Chan. Known for his incredible acrobatics and dedication to performing his own stunts, Chan has been a favorite of Statham's for years.

Statham shared his admiration for Chan during a podcast appearance, noting that Chan has “broken every bone in his body” for his commitment to his craft. He also mentioned that while there have been rumors about Chan joining the franchise, nothing has been confirmed by Sylvester Stallone, the franchise's creator.

The latest installment, Expend4bles, faced significant criticism and poor box office returns. Despite this, discussions about a fifth film are ongoing, and Statham remains hopeful that Chan could be part of the next movie. Expendables director Scott Waugh echoed this sentiment, stating that while nothing is confirmed, “anything's possible” if the stars align.

Statham's admiration for Chan is rooted in his appreciation for Chan's dedication to his work. He compared Chan to Clint Eastwood, another action legend, and emphasized that Chan's commitment to doing his own stunts makes him “the real deal”.

Jason Statham's desire to see Jackie Chan join The Expendables franchise highlights the respect and admiration he has for Chan's incredible career. As discussions about a fifth film continue, fans of both action stars remain hopeful that this dream team-up could become a reality.

In my opinion, Jason Statham's admiration for Jackie Chan is well-founded. Chan's dedication to performing his own stunts and his impressive career in action cinema make him a perfect fit for The Expendables. While the franchise has faced challenges, the addition of Chan could bring a fresh dynamic and attract a wider audience. It would be exciting to see these two action icons share the screen and showcase their unique talents.
