Unfortunately, that's pretty much all we know about the plot at this moment – Lopez will play a single (aka newly separated) mother who begins an affair with a new teenage neighbor who befriends her son.
And you already guess the rest of the story – the real mess begins when she tries to abruptly end that weird relationship.
Still nothing about the rest of the cast, but we can also add that xXx helmer Rob Cohen is in talks to direct the whole thing from a script written by Barbara Curry.
As we mentioned at the beginning, The Boy Next Door starts shooting this fall before Lopez begins taping the new season of American Idol.
Blum will produce with Smart Entertainment's John Jacobs and Lopez's manager Benny Medina, as well as Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas of Lopez's Nuyorican Productions banner, while Zac Unterman will executive produce the project.
