Jessica Biel and Sharlto Copley Join The A-Team
Jessica Biel and Sharlto Copley (“District 9”) are in final negotiations to join Fox's “The A-Team.”
Once these two are officially on board the cast will be complete with Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
The story keeps the premise of the classic 80's TV series but will take a more serious tone with the story of four war vets wrongly convicted of armed robbery escape from a military prison to become mercenaries helping the impoverished.
Copley will portray helicopter pilot Capt. “Howling Mad” Murdock, a role originated by Dwight Schultz in the original series. Biel's set to play the ex-love of Cooper's character “Faceman,” the general pursuing the team.
Bradley Cooper will star as Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck. Neeson's set to play Col. John “Hannibal” Smith, the role originated by George Peppard, and Jackson's on board as Sgt. “B.A.” Baracus, portrayed by Mr. T in the series.
Joe Carnahan (“Pride and Glory,” “Smokin' Aces”) is directing from Skip Woods‘ (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” “Hitman”) script.
Ridley Scott will produce with Jules Daly and series creator Stephen J. Cannell.
Production begins this fall in Vancouver.
