Kathryn Bigelow’s Kill Bin Laden

Fiona December 23, 2011 Add a Comment

Kathryn BigelowOk, they already describe this as one of the most anticipated and potentially controversial movies, but I'm a little bit skeptical about the upcoming Kathryn Bigelow‘s movie with working title Kill Bin Laden.

One thing is for sure – this lady definitely has a lot of luck!

First of all – she won an Oscar for rather boring movie, and now, just when she started to work on a movie described as “the hunt for Bin Laden” – o, well, President Obama announced that Osama Bin Laden had been killed!

So, once again we have Bigelow on board together with Mark Boal (and who else?) for “black ops thriller” that “was written about the exact special ops unit that did kill him, although the original script was about a failed mission.”

Yeah, we know all of that thanks to Variety, and as you already guess, they will now have to rewrite the whole thing, because – the mission was a success after all (?). Happy ending?

Well, not so fast! Check this out, according to Variety, Boal was planning a trip to Afghanistan next week but was forced to cancel due to recent events.

So now, Bigelow and Boal will wait and see how the Arab world will react to the recent news, though they're still aiming for a summer shoot.

And just in case you're interested, they already have Joel Edgerton on board to kill Osama, or, if you prefer – “a special operative in the movie, and will be part of an ensemble cast portraying the commando/SEAL unit that targeted Bin Laden.”

I think I already hate this movie. And you? Share your thoughts, and stay tuned!
