The latest trailer for
Ron Howard‘s period racing drama
Rush promises that
Formula 1 race star James Hunt (
Chris Hemsworth) is a bit of a sexy, risk-taking hunk, while his methodical opponent
Niki Lauda (
Daniel Brühl) is taking things a little more seriously.
Written by
Peter Morgan (The Last King of Scotland)
Rush follows their racing teams of McLaren and Ferrari as they compete across the European and world circuit, particularly the 1976 season, putting their lives at risk fighting for fame, glory and respect.
Howard previously told EW:
People ask what has Rush been like and I say, from a filmmaking standpoint, it's been kind of like a cross between Apollo 13 and Backdraft. In the case of Apollo 13, that's for the complexity and the authenticity and the intent to capture an era and an endeavor that blends technology, action and danger.”
Check out the trailer which turns the focus primarily on Hunt along with the inclusion of a
Jay-Z and
Kanye West tune.
