Les Miserables featurette features
Hugh Jackman, newly minted Golden Globe and SAG nominee on his experience with creating the character of Jean Valjean and what the experience meant to him.
It is well known that Jackman stars as Jean Valjean, an ex-convict who is hunted by the nefarious Inspector Valvert (
Russell Crowe) after his release from prison.
It is also a well-known that this past weekend the Academy announced director
Tom Hooper's film was among the seven shortlisted films remaining in competition in the Makeup and Hairstyling category for the 85th Academy Awards.
A huge reason for the Les Mis success is not only that Jackman prepared himself by getting into an impressive physical state, but you can see him really doing his best to mentally prepare for this performance, as well.
Jackman is an absolute triple-threat: he can sing, and act, and dance. The actor reveals that his previous work on the stage and screen has helped him for taking on this iconic role.
The motion-picture adaptation of the beloved global stage sensation also stars
Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Russell Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, Eddie Redmayne, and
Samantha Barks.
Les Miserables will be released on Christmas Day in the US.
