Here’s the first poster for Robert Rodriguez‘s latest movie, Machete Kills, which will be on display at the European Film Market during the Berlin Film Festival.
The upcoming film is the second movie in a planned trilogy. Danny Trejo will return to reprise his role as the deadly blade-wielding Mexican ex-Federale.
What started out as a gag trailer in 2007’s Tarantino-Rodriguez team-up Grindhouse continues in the new film, which will follow Machete as he’s recruited by the U.S. government to battle a Mexican Cartel and a bad guy bent on harnessing a powerful space-weapon.
Deadline says the sequel
“finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.”
