The Oscar-nominated thesp has reportedly entered early talks with
Michael Bay to take on the lead role in T4.
However, according to
the director's blog the story is ‘just a rumor'. Bay and Wahlberg were in talks, but for another project:

From a financial standpoint, the idea of Wahlberg involvement in the next installment of the Transformers series certainly makes sense, but Bay is still in the early stages of T4 and we should hear more about the fourth entry as we move closer towards the June 29th, 2014 release date.
