Michael Fassbender and Domhnall Gleeson Toplining Film4 Comedy FRANK
Michael Fassbender, who has had a successful two years and Domhnall Gleeson, best known for his portrayal of wizard Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter films, have both signed on to star in the comedy Frank.
Fassbender's ability to become a chameleon for the first time helps him be outright funny.
Frank is Lenny Abrahamson‘s (Garage) next project about a young wannabe musician, Jon (Gleeson), who discovers he's bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Fassbender).
Written by British journalist and humorist Jon Ronson (The Men Who Stare at Goats) and Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) the Manchester-based rock comedy has been developed by Film4 and is set to begin shooting late this year.
Fassbender recently finished shooting a part in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave and is currently in production on Ridley Scott's thriller The Counselor. He'll return for the X-Men: First Class sequel early next year, and he's also set to produce and star in a big-screen adaptation of the video game Assassin's Creed.
It's almost obvious that Fassbender have to sacrifice something from his busy schedule to find time to complete this co-production between Runaway Fridge and Element Pictures.
Gleeson will next star in Dredd 3D and Anna Karenina, respectfully.
