An upcoming historical action-adventure video game Assassin's Creed 3 is set for release on October 30th, 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and for Microsoft Windows on November 23, 2012, but I meant to say something different.
It's headed for the big screen with the hottest actor in Hollywood,
Michael Fassbender who will star in and co-produce
Assassin's Creed feature film adaptation of Ubisoft's videogame franchise. The Prometheus star would play the lead, Desmond Miles, a man whose ancestors were expert assassins, or it's likely that Fassbender would be playing one of the actual assassins instead, or maybe both?
It's too early to say; only his attachment to the film is a certainty.
However, Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet told
Variety:
Michael Fassbender was our first choice (to play the lead role). Michael (Fassbender) is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor.
Fassbender is currently shooting Twelve Years A Slave and he's also playing the lead role in Ridley Scott's The Counselor, which is set to begin filming this summer. Additionally, he will reprise his role in the X-Men: First Class sequel, which could start production at the end of this year.
