An upcoming historical action-adventure video game Assassin’s Creed 3 is set for release on October 30th, 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and for Microsoft Windows on November 23, 2012, but I meant to say something different.
It’s headed for the big screen with the hottest actor in Hollywood, Michael Fassbender
who will star in and co-produce Assassin’s Creed
feature film adaptation of Ubisoft’s videogame franchise. The Prometheus star would play the lead, Desmond Miles, a man whose ancestors were expert assassins, or it’s likely that Fassbender would be playing one of the actual assassins instead, or maybe both?
It’s too early to say; only his attachment to the film is a certainty.
However, Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet told Variety
Michael Fassbender was our first choice (to play the lead role). Michael (Fassbender) is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor.
Fassbender is currently shooting Twelve Years A Slave and he’s also playing the lead role in Ridley Scott’s The Counselor, which is set to begin filming this summer. Additionally, he will reprise his role in the X-Men: First Class sequel, which could start production at the end of this year.
