Maniac and as usual – we recommend you to check it out!
Why? Well, ’cause we’re talking about the film which is written and produced by
Alexandre Aja, and second – ’cause some great cast is involved in the whole thing…
So, as we previously reported,
Maniac is the remake of
William Lustig‘s brutal 1980 film of the same name which centers on a disturbed individual named Frank Zito, who becomes a ruthless serial killer.
This time,
Elijah Wood plays a professional serial killer serial killer, while
Nora Arnezeder stars as Anna, young artist terrorized by Wood as the killer/maniac.
Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.
The rest of the cast includes
America Olivo,
Liane Balaban,
Sammi Rotibi and
Genevieve Alexandra.
