Natalie Portman Goes West for Lynne Ramsay’s JANE GOT A GUN

Nick Martin May 22, 2012 Add a Comment
Natalie_Portman Well, Natalie Portman is the new star of Jane Got a Gun, a Western from We Need to Talk About Kevin director Lynne Ramsay, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film, described as a Western, was written by Brian Duffield and has Portman attached to star and produce. The revenge-driven Western made the 2011 ‘Black List' of unproduced screenplays. Duffield's firs script tells the story of a woman whose criminal husband returns home on the verge of death and covered in bullet wounds. She is forced to reach out to her ex-lover to help protect her farm from the gang of outlaws when they eventually track her husband down to finish the job. Portman, who is ‘frequently employed Oscar winner and mom' last year starred in Thor, No Strings Attached and Your Highness; Ramsay was last in theaters with one of the best films of 2011, We Need to Talk About Kevin, which is about to hit DVD and Blu-ray on May 29. Portman is currently working on Terrence Malick's two new films, and also has Thor 2 coming up at the end of the year. Jane Got a Gun seems a wildly interesting project, don't you think?
