Netflix Renews ‘The Diplomat’ and ‘Nobody Wants This’ for New Seasons: What’s Next?

Netflix has officially renewed the political drama “The Diplomat” and the rom-com “Nobody Wants This” for additional seasons. Here’s what to expect from the upcoming storylines and their intriguing characters.

Netflix continues to captivate audiences with a mix of hard-hitting drama and lighthearted comedy. Recently, the streaming giant announced the renewal of two popular series—“The Diplomat”, a political thriller led by Keri Russell, and “Nobody Wants This”, a romantic comedy starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. With both shows gaining solid fanbases, their upcoming seasons promise fresh twists that have fans eagerly awaiting their return.

The Diplomat: A Strategic Thriller Turns Personal

“The Diplomat” has quickly gained recognition since its debut in April 2023. Keri Russell stars as Kate Wyler, a newly appointed U.S. ambassador to the U.K., whose diplomatic skills are put to the test as she navigates complex political tensions. Fans don't have long to wait for more, with Season 2 slated for an October 31st release. However, Netflix has already confirmed that a third season is in the works—showing just how much confidence the platform has in this geopolitical thriller.

Showrunner Debora Cahn is back for the third season, teasing a game-changing storyline where “Season 3 flips the chessboard.” Cahn hints that Kate Wyler faces the unsettling reality of “getting what you want,” setting the stage for deeper conflicts and higher stakes.

Nobody Wants This: Rom-Com with a Twist

On the lighter side, “Nobody Wants This”, which premiered just last month, has also earned a renewal. The show, created by Erin Foster, explores the blossoming relationship between an agnostic podcast host and a quirky rabbi on the rebound. With Kristen Bell and Adam Brody's comedic chemistry, the series stands out from typical rom-coms by blending humor with heartfelt moments. New showrunners, Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, are expected to elevate the storylines even further in the upcoming season.

As these two shows continue to grow, it's clear that Netflix is investing in both political drama and quirky romance to keep us all entertained.
