Columbia Pictures has released a third clip from director
Len Wiseman‘s take on
Total Recall, the remake of the sci-fi classic film which looks like a pleasant mix of new and old.
However, Biel said in an interview Friday in San Diego that the upcoming film is much different than its predecessor:
It definitely is an action-thriller film, but to me, it's an action-drama love story. We really wanted to tie this movie down to the ground in an emotional way, so you could go away feeling everything, not just excited by what it looks like.
On the other hand, Wiseman wants to see if we can tell which way he's leaning by observing the film:
I do fall on a side. Here's the thing. I think as a director, you have to at least have a point of view that does slant at least one way or the other, [just for] all the minutiae of all the decision making that you're doing. I do have one, so I'll be interested if people feel that that comes across in the movie or not, but I'm keeping it to myself.
Visually-stunning actioner Total Recall comes to theaters August 3rd, 2012 and stars the film's two leading ladies
Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, alongside
Colin Farrell, Bryan Cranston, Bill Nighy, John Cho, Steve Byers, and
Bokeem Woodbine.
The third sequence clip features Farrell, Beckinsale and Biel: Lori (Beckinsale) faces off with Quaid (Farrell) and Melina (Biel). Check it out.
