who is contributing the voice of Groot
has announced on his Facebook page that Fast & Furious 7
will now open on April 10th, 2015.
Everybody knows that Diesel likes to share and he hasn’t made an exception this time, posting on his timetable a still from the final scene he shot with his late co-star Paul Walker, as well as the official new release date.
Originally set for July 11, 2014, production on the film has been halted since Walker died tragically in a car accident late last month. Universal Studios announced that there is a need to assess their options and figure out how to move forward with the franchise.
Now it looks like they’re just delaying production to re-tool the screenplay in order to allow Walker’s character Brian O’Conner to be retired from the series.
Director James Wan
will remain in charge of the still unreleased seventh film that will also feature Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez
and Tyrese Gibson
Rumors are that Walker’s brother, Cody
, will reprise the role of Brian O’Conner for scenes that were yet to be completed, but this has yet to be confirmed.
