Empire magazine's latest issue features a four page article on the upcoming Peter Jackson‘s “The Lovely Bones.”
Based on Alice Sebold‘s best selling book, the film centers on a young girl (Saoirse Ronan) who has been murdered and watches over her family – and her killer – from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal.
Mark Wahlberg plays Susie's father, Rachel Weisz her mother, Stanley Tucci the neighbor and Susan Sarandon the family's grandmother.
“The Lovely Bones” arrives in theaters December 11. [source: Access-Saoirse.com]

I’ve wanted to read this book for a very long time and just bought it two weeks ago at a bookshop where it was on the bargain rack. I began reading Saturday night and it is hard to put it down, in order to tend to everyday tasks and work on Monday. I am so sad for this family and so outraged at Mr. Harvey. I feel so badly for Lindsey and poor Buckley will grow up not remembering his sister. I am totally involved in this book!!
I can only hope the movie version is nearly faithful to the book. I know film producers have to take poetic license, but often the movie is like an entirely different story.
