After being rumored back in December, Nicola Peltz has finally been confirmed for the female lead in Transformers 4, following in the footsteps of Megan Fox and Rosie-Huntington-Whiteley.
Director Michael Bay announced the young actress’ casting via Twitter when asked whether Megan Fox could come back for Transformers 4:
No. Female lead has been cast… Nicola Peltz.
The Twitter account for Bay’s official site later wished her a warm welcome:

The up-and-coming actress, who is most known for starring in The Last Airbender can currently be seen in A&E’s new series, ‘Bates Motel,’ which is a loose prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s serial killer horror, Psycho.
As for Fox, she was previously announced as playing the female lead in another Bay production, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Also joining the cast is Aussie thesp Brenton Thwaites who will play Peltz’s biker boyfriend. Thwaites will soon be seen starring opposite Angelina Jolie in Maleficent.
The duo will be rounding out the principal cast alongside previously announced Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor.
The 18-year-old actress will play the daughter of Wahlberg’s character, who is dating the arrogant race car driver played by Reynor.
The film which would be shot in 3D is set to be released in U.S. theaters on June 27th, 2014.
