Oprah Winfrey joins Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock for Michael Patrick King Comedy

Oprah Winfrey will join Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock for currently untitled comedy which will be directed by Michael Patrick King (director, writer and producer of the two Sex and the City films).

Universal comedy will follow its three female leads as they traverse a world designed in the style of a home shopping network. With such big stars attached – the combination of two Oscar-winning actresses and well known Winfrey this really sounds promising. “I put it in front of each of them and they all said yes. To have access to these women, tell them this story and hear yes was almost like a Greek mythological journey, with me going from one goddess to the next. It was humbling.” King said. The script is still in development but King expects to have it done by January, with production tentatively scheduled for the summer.
