Paddy Considine Set to Reteam with Hot Fuzz Co-Stars for THE WORLD’S END
British thesp Paddy Considine has signed on to reunit with his Hot Fuzz co-stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost for Edgar Wright‘s The World's End, the third film in the director's Three Colors Cornetto trilogy (a.k.a. Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy) of comedies that started with Shaun of the Dead.
Rosamund Pike also co-stars as the film's female lead, who shares a romantic past with Pegg's character and Considine will portray ‘a big ladies man and aspiring who has grown up to be a divorced architect.'
The plot centers on five childhood friends going through an epic pub crawl in order to reach the fabled pub, The World's End. But as they make their way to the pub, they discover that the fate of humankind is on the line.
While Shaun of the Dead was a zombie-romantic-comedy; Fuzz payed homage to the action film genre, speculation has it that The World's End will combine Judd Apatow-like bromance with apocalypse movie.
The film is slated to being shooting next month with a UK release date of 14th August 2013; Wright will direct from a script he co-wrote with Pegg.
Considine is also attached to star in Henry Hobson's father-daughter zombie flick Maggie.
