Paranormal Activity - Banner

Paramount Pictures has scheduled a fifth film in its found footage horror franchise Paranormal Activity.

Titled simply Paranormal Activity 5, the next low-budget film will hit theaters just in time for Halloween on October 25th, 2013.

The series has grossed over $350 million in North America and over $700 million globally in the last five years, but Paranormal Activity 4 is the lowest-grossing movie of the series at the domestic box office. However, it was a success overseas.

Jason Blum will produce again. PA 5 is expected to advance the story from the previous films.

Untitled spin-off targeted towards the Latino audience is also in the works and is planned for Spring 2013. Christopher Landon is going to be directing the PA Latino spin-off working from his own script, presumably.

It’s obviously become an annual event now.

Stay tuned.
