Time to take another look at David Gordon Green
‘s film Prince Avalanche
, which stars great Paul Rudd
and Emile Hirsch
. Hope you’re already familiar with this story: two highway road workers spend the summer of 1988 away from their city lives, and stuff like that. The movie is set to hit limited theaters this August, it definitely looks promising and as usual – we recommend you to head inside and find the latest video!
Written and directed by Gordon Green (who, by the way, won the Silver Bear for Best Director
at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival), the movie is an American remake of the Icelandic film Either Way
It revolves around Rudd’s character Alvin and Hirsch’s Lance, aka two workers who spend their summer repainting traffic lines in the middle of a country highway.
In other words:
An odd couple of sorts, meditative and stern Alvin and his girlfriend’s brother, Lance, dopey and insecure, leave the city behind to spend the summer in solitude repainting traffic lines down the center of a country highway ravaged by wildfire. As they sink into their job in the remarkable landscape, they learn more than they want to about each other and their own limitations. An unlikely friendship develops through humor and nasty exchanges, leading to surprising affection.
Also starring Lance LeGault
, Joyce Payne
, Gina Grande
and Lynn Shelton
, Prince Avalanche
