“Return to Castle Wolfenstein” Movie Still in the Works
According to Eurogamer, game-to-film “Return to Castle Wolfenstein” is still in development. Producer Samuel Hadida has secured the rights to the video game “Return to Castle Wolfenstein,” with Roger Avary attached to write and direct the adaptation of the id Software property.
“With the writer’s strike it took so long to get underway and Roger Avary, the writer, had a commitment that was in line before working the Wolfenstein stuff, but I’ve recently been in contact with Roger and he’s actually working on the script right now,” Todd Hollenshead (id Software CEO) told Eurogamer.
Hollenshead added, “There’s some contract provisions and if they don’t have certain things done within a certain period of time they can’t just sit on the rights forever and not use them.”
The WWII-set “Return to Castle Wolfenstein” revolves around U.S. Army Ranger B.J. Blazkowicz, who leads a team of agents into Castle Wolfenstein in order to investigate the Nazis’ SS Paranormal Division.
