“Oh Canada” is a film that focuses on a renowned Canadian documentary filmmaker sharing his life story with a former student. The couple, who married in a secret ceremony in April 2018, has been together for several years and has two children together: Alexander, 5, and a younger son born in April 2020. Gere also shares a son, Homer, 24, with his ex-wife Carey Lowell.

He continued, “The person that you are today was not the same person you were 50 years ago when the relationship started. They’re not the same person. You’re not the same people together. So it’s a constant checking in to see, ‘Does this work?'”
