Director
Tarsem Singh (
Mirror Mirror) is teaming with
Ryan Reynolds for an Endgame/Film District co-production, a sci-fi thriller
Selfless, penned by brothers
Alex and
David Pastor.
An easy breezy sci-fi thriller that read itself made the 2011 Black List of Hollywood's best unproduced screenplays. Writer-directors Pastor brothers who initially were planning to direct themselves are best known for writing and directing the 2009 film,
Carriers, which starred Chris Pine and Emily VanCamp.
Here's the
Selfless premise from Black List:
An extremely wealthy elderly man dying from cancer undergoes a radical medical procedure that transfers his consciousness to the body of a healthy young man but everything may not be as good as it seems when he starts to uncover the mystery of the body's origins and the secret organization that will kill to keep its secrets.
Reynolds will be seen this summer fighting alongside
Jeff Bridges in the action comedy
R.I.P.D., while he most recently completed work on the Atom Egoyan's thriller
Queen of the Night and currently shooting Marjane Satrapi's
The Voices.
Immortals director Tarsem is still attached to shoot untitled
Marco Polo project with Gong Li, but not much has been heard of that one in a while.
Stay tuned.
