Sharon Stone in Tony Kaye’s ATTACHMENT

Sharon Stone

Berlin’s European Film Market opening date is getting closer by the minute — more than a few will reportedly have nothing more to present than an idea and a cast. What I know about Tony Kaye’s new thriller Attachment is that W2 Media (The Drummer) will fully fund the project and it will take the title to the European Film Market in Berlin next week. I have also learned that Kaye’s sexual thriller has an idea and cast… at least one star. For now, they have Sharon Stone back in sexual thriller territory. Stone will play a married woman who has a one-night stand with a student. The indiscretion comes back to haunt her when the lover begins to date her daughter and stalk her family. Filmmaker Christopher Denham (Home Movie) wrote the script, and there’s a plan for Kaye to kick off shooting in April after shopping the film at EFM. Kaye, a six time Grammy nominated music video director made his feature film debut with American History X (1998) and has completed his second feature film, Black Water Transit (2010) as well as the upcoming film Detachment, starring Adrien Brody, a surrealist drama about the decline of the education system in American high schools, which will hit US theaters in March. The 53-year-old Stone who became a silver screen sensation with her provocative roles in such movies as Basic Instinct and Sliver is now shooting Lovelace, the biopic of adult film star Linda Lovelace. Thumbs up.
