Dreamworks have just released the first trailer for War Horse, Steven Spielberg’s upcoming war epic film based on the Michael Morpurgo novel published in 1982. War Horse is adapted for the big screen by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot) and Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral). The film stars Jeremy Irvine as the lead character Albert, a young man whose horse, Joey, is sold off to the French Calvalry, leading Albert to fight in the trenches of WWI to try to reunite with the animal. Additional cast include Emily Watson, Peter Mullan, David Thewlis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Stephen Graham, Tom Hiddleston, Celine Buckens, Niels Arestrup, David Kross, Patrick Kennedy, Rainer Bock, Nicolas Bro, Leonar Carow and Robert Emmms.Here’s the official synopsis for “War Horse”: From director Steven Spielberg comes “War Horse,” an epic adventure for audiences of all ages.
