Images from Star Trek Into Darkness seen over the last little while were, in fact, screen captures from the one-minute announcement trailer for JJ Abrams‘ explosive action thriller.
This time Paramount Pictures has officially released a new image from the film in anticipation of the 9-minute IMAX-exclusive preview of Star Trek sequel that will be attached to showings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey this weekend, on December 14th, 2012.
A brand new image features Benedict Cumberbatch’s anonymous villain who is billed as John Harrison, locked away in a brig/holding cell and seemingly engaging in a heated discussion with Zachary Quinto as Spock and Chris Pine as Captain Kirk.
Star Trek Into Darkness will open in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 15th, 2013. The film also stars John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.
